Our Approach

Our Chapter

Chapter 22 was chartered in 1969; led by Paul Barron (Director of Engineering, WCNY-TV Syracuse) and a group of engineers representing broadcast stations, educational institutions and equipment manufactures from Syracuse and the surrounding counties of Central New York state.

The organizational meeting was held on October 30, 1968 at the studios of WCNY Television on Old Liverpool Road in the Town of Salina, County of Onondaga, New York.

At that first gathering 29 potential society members were in attendance, including SBE National President Al Chismark (Chief Engineer, WHEN-TV Syracuse) and National Executive Secretary Charles Hallinan (WKOP Binghamton, NY).
