Our Presention will be "Transitioning to IP:  Is it for Me?" by Orest Holyk from Evertz
You have been mandated to plan for a facility upgrade. Your ten-year-old SD-SDI router still works, but not only does it take up racks of space, it also is approaching EOL, has limited support, if any and really needs to be replaced.  You are hearing plenty about next generation IP facilities, which offer enhanced networked capabilities, compared to legacy baseband infrastructures and wonder – is this for me?  There are indeed a number of advantages for deploying an IP infrastructure, but is there a technical need to deploy this today, now?  Are there financial reasons to consider?  Yes, the ability to share and control both content and resources more easily across a network is a good incentive, however, to get there means careful consideration and planning, not to mention timing, standardization and interoperability.  What do I do with my legacy gear?  Perhaps, there are steps one can consider in moving towards an IP facility “eventually” that can be addressed sooner rather than later...Evertz, with over 100+ IP deployments since 2014, has developed special insight into these considerations and this overview presentation will look at both the physical infrastructure requirements of an IP facility as well as the control, orchestration, monitoring and analytic tools required to manage a migration to IP facility deployments.  Come spend an hour with us to review the key points in fulfilling your mandate!
