This presentation will cover key developments and potential future directions for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), including the FCC’s move to take a ground-up look at modernizing EAS.  We’ll also look at enhanced emergency information approaches for TV and radio, and where Digital Alert Systems is headed with it’s advanced solutions to support new options for broadcast radio and television to serve their audiences.

Dr. Edward Czarnecki is a nationally recognized leader in emergency communications, serving as Vice President of Government and International with Digital Alert Systems, Inc.  He serves on the ATSC Board of Directors, chairs the ATSC TG3-10 Emergency Alerting group, and co-chairs the ATSC IT-1 Advanced Emergency Information Implementation Team.  Ed also as serves on the steering committee of the AWARN alliance, and chairs the NextGen Video Information Systems Alliance (NVISA).  Advising government, he is currently serving on the FEMA IPAWS Advisory Group and the Canadian Alert Technical Working Group.  With more than 25 years of experience shaping next-generation alerting standards, he brings unmatched expertise and insight into the future of public warning communications.
